Externally Sponsored research is financed by traditional awards made in the form of grants which are dispersed after a general ‘call for proposals’ is announced. Typically, several wide-ranging research areas are covered in this category.

Once a Project is approved, then the project monitoring workflow is created in ABHATHI system and all post-award requests should be submitted through this system.

Yes, you have to seek prior approval for post-award requests, such as:

  1. Purchase of material/equipment above SR 1,000
  2. Travel, Scientific trips
  3. Publication support, mandatory page charges, extra page charge
  4. Change of team composition and role. 

The incentives of the Senior members of the project depends on the type of grant. Even the time when they will receive these incentives depends on the type of grant. All this information will be available in the Agreement Form which is signed at the start of the project.

Compensation of students is subjected to KFUPM policy and regulations.
