Deanship of Research Oversight and Coordination (DROC) provides internal grants to support research and innovation in areas of relevance to KFUPM research strategy and Saudi Arabia RDI priorities with the objective of promoting quality and impactful research.

Early Career Research Grant
It assists the career development for new faculty joining KFUPM, introduce them to the research culture and opportunities at KFUPM, and familiarize them with the relevant research procedures.
Exploratory Research Grant
It aims to support faculty members and researchers to explore novel research ideas in the areas of interest to KFUPM and the Kingdom and aligned with the domestic and/or global grand challenges.
Proof of Concept Grant
It helps to de-risk a technology, increasing the potential for licensing to an existing company or enabling the formation of a start-up company, and identifying a route to commercialization.
Dhahran Techno Valley Collaborative Research Grant
It aims to foster research collaboration with DTV companies and promote collaborative research to evolve into larger applied research.
Inbound International Visiting Program
It gives the opportunity of inviting highly distinguished faculty, researchers and/or scholars to visit KFUPM for exchange of experiences, contributing to on-going project, or expanding collaboration.
Sabbatical Leave Research Grant Program
It aims to provide KFUPM Saudi faculty with a change of atmosphere in order to pursue scholarly activities and to furnish a better environment for academic recuperation and rejuvenation.
Industrial Sabbatical Research Program
It provides KFUPM faculty and researchers with an opportunity to spend their industrial sabbatical in an industrial organization domestically, regionally, or internationally.

02 Start Project
Once project approved, PI should work with the Research Office to create project under KFUPM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system which help PI to facilitate project related transactions.
