The Interdisciplinary Research Center for Hydrogen Technologies and Carbon Management (HTCM) at KFUPM invites highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral candidates to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in:
🔬 MEMS: Design, fabrication, and characterization of microscale devices with applications in sensors, actuators, and advanced industrial systems.
⚙️ Sensors and Actuators: Develop and optimize next-generation technologies for hydrogen energy and carbon management systems, focusing on enhanced efficiency and scalability for industrial applications.
🌱 Energy Harvesting: Innovate in capturing and utilizing energy from diverse sources to drive sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conducted original research on MEMS and energy systems' design, modeling, and optimization.
- Fabricate and characterize sensors and actuators using advanced micro/nano-fabrication techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance industrial applications of the research.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- Expertise in MEMS design, micro/nano-fabrication, and device characterization.
- Experience with modeling tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong background in energy systems, particularly hydrogen energy and carbon management.
- A proven track record of high-impact research demonstrated through publications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom processes and advanced characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, AFM, or XPS).
- Familiarity with energy harvesting technologies and industrial-scale system integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for translating research into practical applications.
Minimum Requirements In addition to the required qualifications, the following criteria are essential for consideration for the position:
- PhD awarded in 2021 or later.
- No grades of D or F (or equivalent) throughout the academic career.
- An average of 5 publications per year in Q1/Q2 journals
- The PhD-granting university must be globally recognized, preferably ranked in the top 200 by QS University Rankings, either overall or by subject.
