The Center of Hydrogen Technology and Carbon Management (IRC-HTCM) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the area of CO₂ electrochemical conversion, catalysis, and sustainable energy technologies under the supervision of Dr.Fatma Ismail, an Assistant Professor in the department of Materials Science and Engineering.
The postdoctoral fellow will work at the intersection of catalyst design, electrochemical systems, and techno-economic/life cycle analysis. The research aims to develop innovative materials and processes that enable efficient carbon dioxide utilization and support the global transition to sustainable fuels and chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental research in electrocatalysis, CO₂ conversion, and advanced materials development.
- Collaborate on modeling, DFT studies, and process-level analysis (TEA, LCA).
- Mentor graduate/undergraduate students and contribute to group research leadership.
- Publish in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields, obtained in 2021 or later from high rank university.
- Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Electrocatalysis and CO₂ reduction/electrochemical systems
- Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
- Computational chemistry/DFT
- Techno-economic analysis (TEA) or life cycle assessment (LCA)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
