Postdoc Fellowships

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team in the field of hydrogen energy, with a focus on sustainable hydrogen production from waste sources and advanced hydrogen storage technologies. The successful candidate will lead innovative research on producing hydrogen from wastewater or organic wastes using different methods. Additionally, he/she will investigate and optimize the kinetics of hydrogen adsorption and release from novel nanomaterials such as MOFs and COFs.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on hydrogen production from wastewater or organic wastes, among others, using innovative approaches and catalytic materials
  • Conduct research on synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of novel nanomaterials (e.g., MOFs, COFs, etc.) for the production and storage of the produced hydrogen
  • Investigate and optimize (experimentally and mathematically) the kinetics of hydrogen storage and release
  • Prepare high-impact publications and presentations for conferences and journals
  • Participate in regular group meetings and collaborate with team members and external partners
  • Participate in the support and guidance of graduate students

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
  • Strong background in hydrogen production techniques
  • Strong background in the kinetics of hydrogen adsorption and desorption from nanostructured materials
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong publication record in reputable journals.

Minimum Requirements

(All of the following conditions must be strictly met. Applications not meeting these criteria will be automatically excluded.)

In addition to the required skills and qualifications, the following criteria are mandatory for consideration for the position:

  • PhD awarded in or after 2021.
  • No D or F grade (or equivalent) throughout the applicant’s academic studies.
  • An average of 5 publications per year in Q1/Q2 journals in the past 2-4 years
  • The PhD-granting university must be ranked in the top 200 by QS University Rankings, both overall and by subject.

 Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in hydrogen production from waste resources via thermal, photocatalytic, and electrocatalytic methods
  • Experience in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, particularly porous materials (e.g., MOFs, COFs, etc.).
  • Experience in studying the kinetics of hydrogen adsorption and release, with the ability to optimize these processes experimentally and fundamentally
  •  Experience in wastewater treatment (i.e., organic and inorganic pollutants removal from water) is not essential, but highly desirable.
  • Experience with carbon capture and conversion is a plus
  • Familiarity with life cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, or reaction kinetics modeling is also a plus

  How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit the following documents:

  1. A detailed CV, including a list of publications.
  2. A cover letter highlighting relevant skills and experience.
  3. All Academic Transcripts and Certificates.
  4. Contact information for at least two references.
