Collaborations

National and International Collaborations

KFUPM and CEEE collaboration with institutions  and entities around the world help us enhance our reach and standing both nationally and internationally. These partnerships provide access to the latest developments, innovations and shared knowledge in teaching and research. They also help us foster strong links with businesses and industries across the globe who share our passion for vibrant and relevant education with an industry focus - often leading to academic mobility as well as collaborative research partnerships.

Cooperative Institutions & Entities Include:
  • King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST)
  • Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC)
  • Saudi Energy Efficiency Program (SEEP)
  • United States, Department of Energy (DOE)
  • Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO)

One of the strengths of CEEE is its collaboration with National and International institutions. Indeed, CEEE has a constructive collaboration with other KFUPM’s Departments / Centers like Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy (CoRE-RE), the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to encourage and support energy development, technology, and innovation in Saudi Arabia.

The following highlights CEEE collaborations with National and International institutions:
  • CEEE collaborated with Saudi ARAMCO and conducted a joint energy audit of a medium-scale academic building.
  • CEEE team often holds meetings with SEEC representatives on crucial issues related to energy efficiency and management.
  • CEEE is also supporting SEEC in the development and appraisement of energy efficiency policies and standards for new and existing buildings and manufacturing facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  • CEEE executive committee members received training at the OAK RIDGE national laboratory of the U.S. DOE on Energy Audits, based on a mutual agreement.
  • CEEE collaborated with U.S. DoE and conducted a joint energy audit of a medium-scale steel manufacturing plant.
  • CEEE team conducts monthly teleconference with the U.S. DOE for advice and discussion on the progress of essential matters.
  • CEEE, with the support of U.S. DoE, helped KFUPM students to benefit from exchange program in U.S Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs) to acquire knowledge and skills.
  • CEEE collaborated with Zamil and conducted a joint energy audit of an industrial facility.
  • CEEE has collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, and Architectural Engineering departments in KFUPM as well as with CORE-RE.
Partnership with Energy-Service Compnaies
CEEE is in discussion with various energy-service companies to work in close partnership, mainly when it comes to retrofitting buildings and industrial facilities for energy efficiency measures, and when it is about the implementation of energy monitoring systems in buildings and industries. Through this partnership, CEEE will be, therefore, able to provide a complete energy solution to a client. Apropos of that, CEEE will be supervising the progress of the project to ensure that all implemented energy efficiency measures and retrofitting needs adhere to the client’s requirements, and to expectations as has initially reported in the study.
