The KFUPM Interdisciplinary Research Center for Hydrogen Technologies and Carbon Management (IRC-HTCM), launched on November 23, 2023, aims to make a significant impact through basic and applied research in the fields of Hydrogen Technologies and Carbon Management. It focuses on clean hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization within the hydrogen program. Moreover, the carbon program targets CO2 emission mitigation through capture, conversion, utilization, storage, and advocating for net zero carbon policies.
The purpose of the IRC-HTCM is to contribute in creating an economical and environmental impact through basic and applied research. The center develops research program in multiple promising fields in applied sciences, focusing mainly on Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Conversion, and Energy Storage.
