Dr. Riyad Mobark A. Ashmeel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and City Design at KFUPM. He holds a PhD in Architecture from Texas A&M University and specializes in the intersection of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (XR), digital innovation, and the built environment. His research focuses on AI-generated immersive environments, digital heritage, smart cities, human-centered evaluation of emerging technologies, and digital transformation. His work aims to advance responsible applications of AI and XR while exploring their impact on innovation, education, digital ecosystems, and the future of the built environment. Through his affiliation with IRC-FDE, he seeks to contribute to interdisciplinary research on AI applications, digital innovation, and emerging technologies that create societal and economic value.
