Dr. MD Asadul Islam Joined IRC-FDE Team as Assistant Professor

Dr. Md Asadul Islam has held academic positions across prestigious institutions, most recently serving as Senior Lecturer at the AACSB-accredited Sunway Business School, Sunway University (Malaysia), where he was honored with the Dean’s Award for Research Excellence in 2024. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor of Management at BRAC Business School, BRAC University (Bangladesh), earning multiple awards for his excellent teaching and prolific research published in top-tier journals. He has also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the AACSB-accredited School of Business, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia (Sarawak Campus), where he received a research grant and best research award for his scholarly achievements. Dr. Asadul holds a PhD from the School of Business and Economics (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accredited), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia, and MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom (UK). He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK. He is also a distinguished member of Academy of Management (AOM). Dr. Asadul’s research has been published in high impact journals including International Journal of Hospitality Management, Studies in Higher Education, Journal of Industrial Relations, International Journal of Tourism Research, and Journal of Strategic Marketing, among others. He has published multiple business cases in SAGE Business Cases. Beyond academia, Dr. Asadul regularly writes opinion pieces and policy commentaries for major Bangladeshi newspapers in both English and Bengali, and his articles appear in the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Business Strategy and Development (BSD) (Scopus Q1) and Global Business and Organisational Excellence (GBOE) (Scopus Q1) published by WILEY.

At IRC-FDE, KFUPM, Dr. Asadul plans to align his upcoming research agenda with the Center’s strategic priorities by examining management and organizational behavioral perspectives on FinTech adoption within the Saudi context. As a newly appointed fellow, he is eager to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and contribute to high-impact research at the intersection of management and digital technology innovation.
