Dr. Abdul Saqib Joined IRC-FDE Team as Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Abdul Saqib is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Finance and Digital Economy (IRC-FDE) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He holds a PhD, a Master’s degree, and an MBA in Finance, all awarded with distinction, including Gold and Bronze Medals. His research interests lie at the intersection of trade policy, ESG, Fintech, and energy economics. Dr. Saqib has published extensively in reputable peer-reviewed journals, including Finance Research Letters, Energy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and the Journal of Environmental Management. He also serves as an active reviewer for leading journals, such as Economic Modelling and the Journal of Climate Finance.
In addition, Dr. Saqib has authored four book chapters and presented his research at prominent national and international conferences and symposiums, including the Malaysian Finance Association Conferences and the Vietnam Symposium on Climate Transition, where he received Best Paper and Best Presenter awards. He has successfully secured and contributed to multiple funded research projects, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity, including grants under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme.
Dr. Saqib has also gained valuable academic and industry experience, having worked with Intel Microelectronics Malaysia, the Center for Policy Research, the Azman Hashim International Business School, and the Graduate School of Business in various academic and research roles. Throughout his academic career, he has been the recipient of several merit-based scholarships, notably the Malaysian International Scholarship, awarded for his doctoral studies.
