IRC-SES implements innovative projects and research activities to promote and improve the market penetration of new and emerging renewable energy technologies. The center aims to develop innovative solutions towards reducing the use of electricity from the national grid by harnessing the abundant renewable energy sources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), especially solar and wind. Hence, increasing the export of excess crude oil, and consequently the economy.

In addition, the center strives to increase public awareness and eventually cater to the alternative energy industry in KSA. This will pave the way for creating new jobs in the local energy markets. Possible jobs may include procurement/development of sub-components of renewable energy systems such as solar photovoltaic, solar collectors, inverters, wind energy accessories, and so on.
