Generating synthetic fundus fluoresceine angiography images from multimodal non-invasive fundus imaging techniques
PI: Dr. Sadam Al-Azani
CoI: Dr. Motaz Alfarraj (KFUPM), Dr. Adi Alowaifeer (King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital)

Description: This project aims to develop an AI-based, non-invasive method for detecting retinal ischemia and reconstructing artificial Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) images from standard color fundus photographs. It will create a clinically validated paired dataset of color fundus and FFA images, align the modalities to accurately map ischemic regions, and train a deep-learning model to generate synthetic FFA images. The approach could reduce the need for dye injections, improve patient safety and comfort, and support more accessible diagnosis of retinal ischemic diseases such as diabetic retinopathy.
