Development and Validation of a Deep Learning Model for Multimodal based Differentiation of Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia and Pterygium Using Slit-Lamp Photographs and HR-OCT

Description: This project will develop and validate an AI system to distinguish between ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) and pterygium using slit-lamp and high-resolution OCT images with biopsy-confirmed diagnoses. By combining these imaging modalities, the deep-learning models aim to improve diagnostic accuracy and subtype classification, with performance compared against expert ophthalmologists. The project will deliver a validated diagnostic tool, support better clinical decision-making, contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 healthcare goals, and provide research and training opportunities in medical AI.
