Description: This project supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by advancing the integration of renewable energy into the electricity grid through artificial intelligence. It focuses on developing AI-based solutions for fault diagnosis in smart grids and PV plants, smart asset management for predictive maintenance, monitoring of battery storage systems, and forecasting of renewable generation and electricity demand. In addition, it explores AI-driven control strategies for power electronic converters in multiphase motor drives and AC/DC microgrids to improve fault tolerance, efficiency, and system stability. Overall, the research aims to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the power sector while building human capital and supporting the Kingdom’s energy transformation goals.
