Adversarial Ai Attacks Against Connected and Automated Smart City Surveillance Systems

Dates: 2023
Principal Investigator: Dr. Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui
Funded by: SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence                                                                                      Description: Recent advances in IoT and deep learning have made Connected and Automated Surveillance Systems (CASS) vital to smart cities, but they remain vulnerable to adversarial AI attacks at the physical, network, and cyber-physical levels. Such attacks can disrupt surveillance, risking safety and security. The research proposes a taxonomy of cyber-physical adversarial AI attacks, identify challenges, and design robust defenses for CASS. Its outcomes support KSA’s 2040 cognitive cities mission and KFUPM’s Grand Challenges, advancing secure and resilient smart city surveillance.
