Accelerated Identification and Synthesis of Novel Anti-Cancer Peptides Using Deep Representation Learning and Generative Modelling

Dates: 2023
Principal Investigator: Dr. Shujaat Khan
Funded by: SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence

Description: This research project aims to revolutionize cancer treatment by using artificial intelligence (AI) and computational modeling to design novel anti-cancer peptides (ACPs). Building on the promise of ACPs’ selectivity and low toxicity, the project addresses the challenge of large-scale identification and synthesis, which traditional experimental methods cannot achieve efficiently. Ultimately, the project seeks to establish a computational framework at the intersection of AI, bioinformatics, and drug discovery, pushing cancer treatment toward more precise, effective, and innovative therapies.
