Membrane Distillation is a thermally driven purification technique that allows only the vapor phase to pass through a microporous hydrophobic membrane and is used for desalination, wastewater treatment and liquid concentrate production. Due to the absence of high-pressure limitations, can be used stand-alone to purify extremely saline feed (> 150,000 ppm).
