Dr. Waqas Haroon joins the Center as a Post Doctoral Fellow

The IRC-Construction and Building Materials at KFUPM is pleased to welcome Dr. Waqas Haroon as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila, Pakistan, in 2025, where his doctoral research focused on the development of a resilient asphalt composite. Prior to joining KFUPM, he served at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) as a Lecturer from February 2020 to August 2026.

Dr. Haroon’s research expertise includes sustainable asphalt and concrete materials, composite modifier development, and the evaluation of rutting, fatigue, moisture susceptibility, rheological behavior, and material durability. His broader research interests include material-to-structure durability coupling, service-life prediction, and transportation systems design and performance modeling. His future research interests include applying predictive analytics and reliability-based approaches to the development of durable and climate-resilient infrastructure.
