Dr. Saravanan Subramanian joins the Center as a Post Doctoral Fellow
The IRC-Construction and Building Materials at KFUPM is pleased to welcome Dr. Saravanan Subramanian as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), India, in 2024. Prior to joining KFUPM, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IIT Tirupati, India, from October 2024 to April 2025.
Dr. Saravanan’s research expertise includes sustainable and advanced construction materials, geopolymer concrete and composites, durability assessment, prestressed concrete, and circular economy approaches in construction. His work focuses on the development and performance evaluation of engineered geopolymer composites (EGC) as a low-carbon alternative to conventional cement-based materials, utilizing industrial by-products for structural applications.
At IRC-Construction and Building Materials, his future research will focus on advanced low-carbon materials, incorporating multifunctional carbon-rich additives to enhance durability, mechanical performance, and environmental resilience, along with advancing circular material strategies and carbon sequestration approaches for structural applications.
We warmly welcome Dr. Saravanan Subramanian and look forward to his valuable contributions to sustainable materials research at IRC-Construction and Building Materials, KFUPM.
