Dr. Burhan Showkat joins IRC-CBM as a Post Doctoral Fellow
The IRC-CBM research center at KFUPM is pleased to welcome Dr. Burhan Showkat as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Burhan received his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from IIT Bombay, India, in 2023.
Dr. Burhan’s research expertise includes rheology, moisture damage resistivity, mechanistic performance assessment, recycling, design, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, forensic investigation, resilience, and life cycle assessment of asphalt binders and mixes. His work focuses on engineering of novel asphalt binders through the utilization of thermosetting resin precursors, as well as the development of an analytical tool for monitoring the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s road conditions via deflection bowl parameter analysis.
Throughout his doctoral studies, Dr. Burhan authored several peer-reviewed articles in top-tier, international journals. Dr. Burhan gained industry experience at Larsen & Toubro Limited, where he contributed to the construction of the coal and ash handling facilities for the supercritical thermal power plant.
