30 Dec 2025 @ 12:00 AM

The IRC-CBM research center at KFUPM is pleased to welcome Dr. Azhar Saeed as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2022. Before joining KFUPM, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study, Shenzhen University, from May 2023 to April 2025.

Dr. Saeed’s research focuses on soft matter physics and advanced energy storage materials. He specializes in the design, synthesis, and characterization of functional soft materials, including liquid crystals, colloidal systems, and nanostructured composites, with emphasis on their electrochemical, electro-optic, and interfacial behaviors. His work contributes to the development of high-performance materials for next-generation supercapacitors, guided by an in-depth understanding of structure–property relationships.

In addition to publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles in top-tier international journals, Dr. Saeed has played an active role in mentoring graduate students, supporting experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

At IRC-CBM, Dr. Saeed aims to advance research in liquid crystal-based smart window technologies, integration of soft and liquid crystalline materials into electrochemical energy systems, and the development of multifunctional nanocomposites. His broader goal is to explore sustainable material solutions for high-performance energy storage and conversion devices.

We extend a warm welcome to Dr. Azhar Saeed and look forward to his innovative contributions to the interdisciplinary research at IRC-CBM, KFUPM.
