The IRC-CBM research center at KFUPM is pleased to welcome Dr. Anwar Hosan as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Hosan holds a Ph.D. and MPhil in Civil Engineering from Curtin University, Australia, where he focused on developing sustainable concrete materials. His Ph.D. research explored the use of blast furnace slag and fly ash as high-volume replacements for ordinary Portland cement, incorporating nano silica and nano calcium carbonate to enhance performance. His work has contributed significantly to understanding the mechanical, durability, and microstructural properties of these innovative materials.

Before joining KFUPM, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Curtin University, focusing on the development of green 3D concrete composites and road base materials using copper heap leach residue. His work aims to promote the utilization of industrial by-products, recycled materials, and supplementary cementitious materials to reduce the environmental impact of construction while ensuring cost-effective, durable, and sustainable solutions for future generations.

We extend a warm welcome to Dr. Hosan and look forward to his valuable contributions to our research endeavors at IRC-CBM, KFUPM!
