Dr. Ali Babalghaith joins IRC-CBM as a Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Ali Babalghaith, a researcher in the field of Transportation Engineering, currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Construction and Building Materials (IRC-CMB). His academic journey began at Hadhramaut University, Yemen, where he earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with distinction in 2010. Dr. Babalghaith pursued his M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering at King Saud University (KSU), Saudi Arabia, and graduated in 2017. His dedication to the academic realm extended beyond his studies as he concurrently took on roles as a researcher and teaching assistant in the civil engineering department at KSU from 2011 to 2018. He obtained a Ph.D degree from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia in Transportation Engineering (2021). Besides, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Malaya in the Center for Transportation Research (CTR). He worked in several areas in Transportation Engineering, his core research interests include the use of waste materials as replacers, modifiers, or additives in asphalt binder or asphalt mixtures such as recycled concrete aggregate (RCA), reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), coal bottom ash, palm oil clinker, palm oil fuel ash, waste glass, waste fibres, waste oils, waste plastic, and crumb rubber.
