Optimization of Residential Rooftop Photovoltaic Systems for Sustainable Energy Transition in Smart Cities
PI: Dr. Ahmed Attia
CoI: Dr. Mohamed Darghouth, Dr. Awsan Mohammed, Dr. Ahmed Ghaithan

The transition toward sustainable energy in smart cities demands effective utilization of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This project addresses the technical, economic, and environmental challenges associated with optimizing residential rooftop PV installations. By developing a robust mathematical model and leveraging real-world data from Saudi Arabia, the project aims to design efficient PV configurations while evaluating their cost-effectiveness and adaptability under uncertain parameters. The outcome will support informed decision-making for urban energy planning and enhance PV adoption in residential sectors.
