(STEP) Lab is part of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics at KFUPM. The lab advances sustainable mobility with a focus on active modes, micromobility, public transport, and other emerging forms of mobility. We use extended reality and simulation platforms to study travel behavior and complement these with data-driven approaches, including AI/ML, behavioral theories, and statistical modeling. Our research aims to inform the design of transport systems that are safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible.
