IRC-SES Team Secures NIDLP Support for Eco-Float Voltaic Platform Innovation
We are excited to announce that Dr. Shafiqur Rehman, Principal Investigator at IRC for Sustainable Energy Systems (IRC-SES), along with a distinguished team including Dr. Kashif Irshad, Dr. Mohamed Mohandes, and Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi, has received financial support under the Proof-of-Concept category from the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP).
Their innovative project, the Eco-Float Voltaic Platform (EFVP), deployed in the Arabian Sea, has demonstrated remarkable success, recording lower temperatures on the back surfaces of PV panels compared to ground-based systems, indicating better efficiency retention. This platform, crafted from reusable plastic drums and a sturdy wooden frame, is a breakthrough in both waste management and renewable energy generation. It reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability and sets a new standard in the renewable energy sector.
This recognition is a proud milestone for our team, underscoring our vision of integrating sustainable practices across all aspects of our work. We look forward to the positive impact this innovation will bring to our communities and the environment.
