With the ever increasing global demand for energy, it is critically needed to deliver breakthrough discoveries and technologies in energy. Interdisciplinary Research Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (IRC-SES) is one of the pioneer Saudi national research entities, which was established by the Ministry of Higher Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The center actively supports the establishment of local renewable energy technologies in research institutions and industries for nationwide benefit through academic activities and research, utilizing synergies to stimulate innovation and economic development. The research in the center is focused on the solar energy and related research areas.

The objectives of IRC-SES are in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives to elaborate and execute a development plan to centralize solar technology research, development, manufacturing, education, and capacity building. We aim and hope to move forward towards the future in the quest of knowledge and with a mission to empower researchers and students to become excellent human resources for the research and development of renewable energy technologies in the Kingdom.
