The Interdisciplinary Research Center for Bio Systems & Machines (IRC-BSM) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is a newly established cutting-edge research facility dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation in bioengineering and health-related fields. With a strong focus on creating a functioning ecosystem for innovative engineering solutions that enhance the quality of life, and addressing prevalent health challenges, IRC-BSM plays a pivotal role in driving scientific advancements and societal well-being by translating research discoveries into practical applications that positively impact individuals, communities, and the economy. Our research facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art computational infrastructure, optimized for biodata-driven analytics, advanced CAD and biosystem simulations, and image processing.
The High-performance workstations are powered by Intel Core i9 processors and include NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards, providing 24 GB of VRAM for intensive graphical computations. Each workstation has 128 GB of DDR5 RAM for rapid data access and multitasking. Data storage and retrieval solutions include ultra-fast NVMe SSDs with capacities up to 4TB, along with additional HDDs offering up to 4TB of storage.
