Steel tubing of deep downhole gas well completion corrodes due to high temperature, high pressure (HTHP), and produced water (high dissolved solids). The annual cost was > $463 million (2022). No commercial products can withstand a temperature as high as >100 ⁰C.

The achievement of steel tubing has been significantly enhanced by the introduction of a promising new innovative corrosion inhibitor product, which boasts an impressive 90% inhibition efficiency. This advancement is crucial in extending the lifespan and durability of steel tubing, particularly in harsh environments where corrosion can lead to structural failures and increased maintenance costs.

By effectively mitigating the corrosive effects of environmental factors, this innovative product not only improves the performance of steel tubing but also contributes to sustainability efforts by reducing the need for frequent replacements. The successful implementation of this corrosion inhibitor represents a significant milestone in materials science, paving the way for more resilient and long-lasting steel applications across various industries.

y implementing advanced steel tubing solutions, companies have been able to save billions of dollars that would otherwise be spent on repairs, replacements, and operational downtime caused by corroded infrastructure. This not only enhances the longevity and reliability of production wells but also contributes to more efficient resource extraction processes. As a result, the adoption of high-quality steel tubing not only protects investments but also promotes sustainability within the industry by reducing waste and the need for frequent maintenance.
