On Thursday, 18 September 2025, the General Manager of the Water Desalination Technologies Institute at KACST, accompanied by a delegation of nine colleagues, visited the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Membranes and Water Security (IRC-MWS) at KFUPM.

The visit began with a presentation by our Center’s Director, Prof. Isam H. Alhindi, who provided an overview of the Center’s capabilities, achievements, and collaborative opportunities. This was followed by a series of focused technical overviews from our researchers:

• Dr. Nadeem Baig (Brine Mining)

• Dr. Abdul Waheed (RO/NF Membranes)

• Dr. Umair Baig (Ceramic Membranes)

• Dr. Dahiru Lawal (Membrane Distillation)

• Dr. Ismail Abdulazeez (Acid/Base Applications)

The meeting provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and for strengthening ties between KFUPM and KACST in addressing the Kingdom’s critical water challenges.
