In Oct. 25, 2021, a Technical Forum under the title: Water Security and Climate Change was conducted by the center. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest arid countries without permanent rivers or lakes and is challenged by water scarcity. Long-term strategies for water security as well as the development of sustainable and energy efficient technologies for water are urgently required. The Center of Membranes and Water Security at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) was organized this online technical forum that aims on bringing together leading experts in the fields of Water security and Climate Change to discuss recent advancements and trending topics.

During that event, six distinguished guest speakers were invited. The technical forum consists of two sessions separated by one-hour break from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Each session one and half hour and consist of three presentations, each presentation half an hour, 25 min for presentation and 5 min for Q&A. The technical Forum started by opening remarks by Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, President of KFUPM and ended by closing remarks by Dr. Isam H. Aljundi, Director, Membranes and Water Security Center.
