A thorough assessment and benchmarking of environmental conditions, power sector reliability, infrastructure, nationwide RE policies, and initiatives for 10 developing countries were conducted. The objective of the project funded by UL-GCC LAB Gulf Renewables Lab Joint Venture for King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) included assessing the techno-economic aspects of small-scale PV systems in the reference nations, assessing the policies and support mechanisms implemented, evaluating social impact of small scale PV systems, exploring and evaluating the best practices, and evaluating the code and regulations in the context of contributing to the deployment of renewables and determination of the impact of their implementation.
