Deanship of Research Oversight and Coordination (DROC) provides internal grants to support research and innovation in areas of relevance to KFUPM research strategy and Saudi Arabia RDI priorities with the objective of promoting quality and impactful research.

Early Career Research Grant
This grant aims to assist the career development for new faculty joining KFUPM, help faculty members who have been relatively uninvolved in their research.
Exploratory Research Grant
This research grant covers research areas of interest to KFUPM and aligned with the domestic and/or global grand challenges with budgets limited to SR 100,000 and duration not exceeding 24 months.
Proof of Concept Grant
“Proof of Concept” is the stage in the technology/product development process during which it is validated that the technology/product will function as intended.
Dhahran Techno Valley Collaborative Research Grant
The program aims to foster research collaboration with DTV companies and promote collaborative research to evolve into larger applied research.
Inbound International Visiting Program
The program aims to avail means of direct interaction with scholars and researchers to develop applied research-oriented expertise.
Sabbatical Leave Research Grant
The Sabbatical Leave Research Grant Program aims to provide KFUPM faculty and researchers with a change of atmosphere in order to pursue scholarly activities.
Industrial Sabbatical Leave Research Grant
KFUPM provides faculty and researchers with an opportunity to spend their industrial sabbatical leave in an industrial organization domestically, regionally, or internationally.

Once project approved, PI should work with the Research Office to create project under KFUPM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system which help PI to facilitate project related transactions.
