Organic Coatings Development and Testing

Organic Coatings Development and Testing

The use of organic coatings is considered nowadays as one of the most generic methods for protecting various metal surfaces against corrosion and other deterioration problems. Our Center has pioneer scientists who continuously produce internationally-recognized research in the area of organic coatings development testing. The newly developed parent organic coatings in our Center are of the epoxy, polyurethane, and hybrid silica chemical classes and can be implemented in various applications such as oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, and desalination industries.

The Center has developed also competency in the area of fabricating functional coatings of desired anti-contaminant, scratch-resistance, anti-fogging, anti-icing, easy-to-clean, self-healing, anti-glare, and anti-fouling properties. Moreover, our researchers are also putting significant efforts to make their developed coating formulations in compliance with environmental and health regulations.
